AND NOW A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT

JaNiece Cefalu

Central Heights Youth Basketball Officials Association

President 2006-2014

To whom it may concern;

I, JaNiece Cefalu, am formally resigning from the President position of the Central Heights Youth Basketball Officials Association as of today.   I have held this position of officials, which I began in 2007, while on the board of the Central Heights Youth Basketball Program.  I was also one of the founding board members of the Youth Basketball Program for the Piney Woods association of which I held president of that office for 4 years as well.  After playing junior high, high school and a bit of college basketball, I have been officiating high school, junior high, and little dribblers basketball for 21 years in Louisiana and Texas.  Upon saying that, I am sad to say I am now leaving the sport I have loved for more than half of my life.  It is time.  I simply cannot be a part of decisions that I feel will not benefit the children by not allowing them to learn the game of basketball with respect, dignity and honor.  I was taught at a young age, by a very wise coach, sports are lessons in life.  You learn how to work with others to accomplish a goal, how to accept disappointments with honor, and how to be responsible for the outcome by not blaming others.  This is not how I see it being taught any longer.

I would like to say thank you for allowing me to meet and work with your amazing children.  I love each and every one of them and am thankful to have watched them grow.  I pray that they will continue to love this game and hopefully learn what will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

P.S. TO ALL MY OFFICIALS!!  Thank you ALL for being a part of this association, always being there when I call you and willing to officiate.  I love ALL you guys and girls and appreciate you all SO much for all that you do for this game that we love so much.  I am always only a phone call away.  Thank you ALL!!

Sincerely,

JaNiece Cefalu
